1. Acceptance of Terms

• By creating an account or using HUM, you agree to these Terms
• You must be 13 years of age or older to use HUM
• If you do not agree, do not use the service

2. Account Responsibilities

• Provide accurate information during registration
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• One account per person
• You are responsible for all activity under your account
• Notify us immediately of unauthorized access

3. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Harass, bully, or threaten other users
• Post spam or commercial solicitations
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Share illegal content or content that violates others' rights
• Use automated systems, bots, or scripts
• Attempt to circumvent security measures
• Violate our Community Guidelines

4. Content Ownership and License

• You retain ownership of content you create
• You grant HUM a limited license to display your content to your connections
• Ephemeral content (Echoes, Notes, Signal, Status) auto-deletes per its configured duration
• We may remove content that violates these Terms

5. User Content, Safety, and Enforcement

HUM includes user-generated content and user interactions. By using the service, you agree not to create, upload, post, transmit, or share any content or engage in any conduct that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually exploitative, violent, misleading, infringing, fraudulent, or otherwise objectionable.

You are solely responsible for the content you submit and for your interactions with other users. We may, but are not obligated to, monitor user-generated content and user activity for compliance with these Terms, our Community Guidelines, and applicable law.

Users may report objectionable content or abusive behavior through the in-app reporting tools. Users may also block other users through the in-app blocking tools. Blocking will prevent certain interactions and will remove the blocked user's content from the blocker's in-app feed. Blocking will also generate an internal safety signal for review by our moderation team.

We review reports of objectionable content and block-generated safety signals within 24 hours and, where appropriate, remove offending content and suspend or terminate the accounts responsible for that content or behavior.

We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to investigate, remove, restrict, or refuse any content, and to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate access to the service for any user who violates these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or poses a risk to other users, the service, or third parties.

We may preserve and disclose information related to reports, moderation actions, and user activity where necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, comply with law, or respond to legal process.

6. Privacy

• Our collection and use of data is governed by our Privacy Policy
• By using HUM, you consent to our data practices

7. Termination

• By you: Delete your account anytime via Settings
• By us: We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
• Upon termination, your data will be deleted per our retention policy

8. Disclaimers

• Service provided "AS IS" without warranties
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
• We are not responsible for content posted by users

9. Limitation of Liability

• To the maximum extent permitted by law, HUM is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability is limited to amounts you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim

10. Governing Law

• These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina
• Disputes will be resolved in North Carolina

11. Changes to Terms

• We may update these Terms from time to time
• Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification
• Continued use constitutes acceptance
