Field
Your Field is the home screen where close friends appear as soft circles. There is no public ranking and no feed to keep up with.
How it works
Hum is built around a few small actions. You do not need to learn them all at once. Start with one person, send a small check-in, and let the rest stay quiet.

An Orb is the soft circle that represents a person in your Field.
A Pulse is a small "thinking of you." It has no message, no reply button, and no read receipt.
A Note is a private note for one person. It can include text, an image, voice, or a link, and it does not become a thread.
Notes are temporary. Check the Privacy Policy for the exact rules on when they disappear.
An Echo is a small temporary update that appears near you while you are around. It fades within 24 hours.
A Signal is an optional way to show that you are around for a while. It is a state you enter, not a message you send.
A Status is a short context label, like "traveling" or "heads down." It gives someone a little context without asking for a reply.
A Canvas is one tiny shared space between two people. It replaces what was there before instead of becoming a history.
Shared spaces stay until cleared or account deletion.
Warmth is a private feeling that people have been thinking of you. It is never a number, score, rank, or list of names.
A Tune is a quiet way to hold someone in mind. It is private and silent.
A Wave is a subtle ripple of interest from someone you are not connected with yet. It does not notify anyone or reveal who sent it.
Shield is a temporary quiet mode. Other people do not see it, and incoming activity waits quietly.
